Bob Horn, Tim Aylward and Jim Bandy began their legal careers more than thirty years ago as associates in the Litigation Department of Blackwell Sanders Matheny Weary & Lombardi, one of the large preeminent law firms in Kansas City, Missouri. During their years at Blackwell Sanders, the three became close personal friends as well as law partners.
In early 1999, the three friends decided to fulfill a dream they had shared by establishing their own law firm. Horn Aylward & Bandy, LLC became a reality in April 1999. The firm started with the three named partners, two associates, one paralegal and two long-time secretaries.
In 2000, another of the founding members from Blackwell Sanders, Roger Slead, joined the firm as a member. Then the next year, in October 2001 two additional former partners from Blackwell Sanders, Diana Jordison and BK Christopher, joined the firm as members. Since its inception the firm has grown to a law firm of twenty-five, including nineteen lawyers and five paralegals. Horn Aylward & Bandy’s growth and success is due to the determination of both the persons who started the firm and those who have joined it since its beginning, as well as the support and loyalty of several long-standing clients.
